La Intendencia de Montevideo presentó el programa “ABC por tus ojos” de atención oftalmológica gratuita a niños en policlínicas departamentales, en conjunto con la Universidad de la República. Se prevé atender a 120 niños y niñas por semana.
La intendenta de Montevideo, Carolina Cosse; la directora de Desarrollo Social, Mercedes Clara; la directora de Salud, Virginia Cardozo; el decano de Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de la República (UDELAR), Miguel Martínez; la directora de la Escuela Universitaria de Tecnología Médica, Patricia Manzoni, y el director de la Licenciatura en Oftalmología, Agustín Pizzichillo, participaron este lunes 29 de agosto de la presentación del programa de atención oftalmológica.
El programa “ABC por tus ojos” brindará atención oftalmológica y entregará lentes, según indicación médica, de forma gratuita a niñas y niños. Inicialmente atenderá a 120 menores por semana.
De acuerdo a información que proporcionó la IM, se dispondrá de atención fija en tres policlínicas especializadas: Parque Bellán, Punta de Rieles y Buceo. Trabajarán equipos profesionales conformados por una doctora oftalmóloga y licenciados en oftalmología. Tales equipos también trabajarán con la comunidad en jornadas de “pesquisa para efectuar las derivaciones pertinentes”.
Asimismo, en todas las policlínicas departamentales se realizarán diagnósticos para luego derivar la atención a las tres policlínicas especializadas.
Además, un policlínico móvil recorrerá los barrios de Montevideo para realizar relevamientos, diagnósticos y derivar la atención correspondiente.
